TheatreOne, Nanaimo’s Professional Theatre Company presents actresses Nicolle Nattrass and Erin Ormond in an excerpt of The Drama Queens as part of the Random Acts at the Port Theatre.

The Drama Queens is a new comedy written by Nicolle Nattrass.

This comedy features characters, Trixie and Chicie, they’re famous, they’re hot and they’re here!

International superstars and Guru’s (at least in their own minds), they travel the seminar circuit sharing their wisdom and their patented formula they call “The Shift”. They’ll share with you all you need to change your life. It’s no “Secret” there’s no book and you don’t have to buy the DVD!

Erin Ormond is a professional actor (CAEA) and voice teacher who makes her home here on the island in Chemainus. She is really excited to be sharing with you this piece from The Drama Queens.  Erin recently appeared as Kate Keller in The Miracle Worker at the Chemainus Theatre Festival which will be remounted at Western Canada Theatre Company next spring.  Other Chemainus Theatre Festival credits include Rose in Enchanted April, Lady Chiltern in An Ideal Husband and Mona in Queen Milli of Galt.  Additional island performances include numerous roles in Being Frank (TheatreOne), Yana in Night Breath (Cowichan Fringe) and Carrie in War of the Worlds (Giggling Iguana).  In addition to acting, she has taught professionally as a Voice and Speech teacher in Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria and at the Canadian National Voice Intensive. 

Nicolle Nattrass is a professional actress (CAEA/ACTRA) and playwright (Playwrights Guild of Canada) Her award winning one woman play, Brownie Points was showcased at last years’ Random Acts. Nicolle has performed for regional theatres across Canada including for TheatreOne as “Carol” in Oleanna. She has spent the last 7 years in Toronto working as an actress. She now calls Lantzville her home base and her full length play, Good House-keeping was workshopped this past March by TheatreOne in their new play series, Emerging Voices.
